Greetings First name / friend, It's me, your friend Jen. I'm writing this from the car on a Monday but sending it to you on a Wednesday. I took a bet that your post-Labor Day inbox would look like beef stew, so I held off until today to say, Hello…how the heck are you?Â
In this issue:Â Keeping today's newsletter short and sweet because weeks without a Monday make Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday just blend together like a hodgepodge collage of chaos. Go easy, take it slow, scream into a pillow. I hope this newsletter picks you up when the coffee gets stale and you need a digital hug.Â
Why you’re getting this: I'm Jen Glantz and this is the Pick-Me-Up newsletter. I've been sending it every Monday, for 8-years, to thousands of awesome humans, just like you. Thanks for letting this email live in in your inbox. It truly makes my heart explode with joy.
THE PICK-ME-UP
I'm fascinated by the relationships we have with people and I'm starting to think:
Perhaps we never fully get to know anyone. Perhaps nobody ever truly gets to know us.
Even the people we love. Even the people who love us.
Everyone gets to know versions of us. Some of those people get to know so many versions of us that they could fill up a library of books with all they've learned about over time.Â
But it happens slowly and if you're not careful enough to listen, you might miss something so dense about a person, and you might never hear about it again.
Anyway, people put on a show.Â
I've practiced my own a gazillion times. But when you get past the top 50 questions you could ask a person, you start to see them for who they really are.
For the times in their lives they weren’t the hero or the comedian.Â
The times in their lives they worked so hard to scrub off, to cover up, to pretend was just a tiny nonchalant moment, and there you are…learning things about that person even the toughest eraser called time couldn't clean off of them.Â
Those details are their beauty marks.Â
Just look at the people around you, everyone one of them has those marks from their lives.Â
Sometimes people show them. Sometimes they are just waiting for you to go first.
All my love,
Jen GlantzÂ

Everything I Loved Deeply This WeekÂ
I'm kind of obsessed with this book because I'm always so curious to learn everything I can about a person I meet. I'm annoying in convo's because I ask sooo many questions - Adam always says I sound like I'm interviewing someone for my podcast. I hope this books helps me stop doing that.Â
Love a good Tiny Desk Concert — and this one with Dua LipaÂ
I went to the US Open this weekend (it was awesome - here's a look) but it was soo sunny and seriously this sunscreen this protected me all day without sweating off my face.Â
Looking for bridesmaid gifts? I was featured in the NY Times this weekend dishing advice on gifts your friends will adore.
On year 4 of podcasting - and loved this article about how the most successful podcasts went from idea to iTunes.
Imagine having a step-by-step plan that leads you right to your goal. How about a sidekick of a coach who helps make it feel easy, doable, and fun? What if you said goodbye to excuses, what-ifs, and self-doubt and took control of what you deserve in life?
You don’t have to do it alone. Let's work together.Â
The End
Thanks for reading the Pick-Me-Up Newsletter. If you know someone who'd adore getting this in their inbox, will you send them this link? And if you want to keep in touch this week, you can find me on Instagram, Linkedin, and TikTok (for a real odd time).
Until next Monday, I'll be rooting for you and cheering you on! Have an epic week.
