The Truth About Feeling Invisible

Greetings First name / friend, It's me, your friend Jen. I'm back here in Brooklyn after a little time in Florida.

When I was home, I went to the mall with my mom. As we walked around, I saw two people up I haven't seen in years walking in the distance. I didn't say hello. They didn't see me. It made me think about all the people who see us when we don't even realize it. All the people who love us, even when we don't feel it. All the people who think about us, care about us, adore us, even when their feelings aren't right in front of our face. 

Which is to say, even if you feel alone and invisible, it's not the truth. You don't know who is magnifying you in their mind, but isn't able to tell you that right now.

I don't often talk about this with you but one thing I spend quality time doing every single month is writing articles for different publications. I write wedding advice, business tips, finance help, and personal stories about unique experiments that I've tried. 

On a busy month, I write 40 articles and on a normal month, I write about 20.

Everything I read this week

I turned off the TV this week and read a book every single night. I have this 100-page rule. If I cant get into a book, I give it 100-pages. After that, I put it aside. However, most of the books I read this week blew me away and I finished them sooo quickly. I loved this one that a lot of friends recommended, this one because it was about secrets, and this one which really make my heart swell. 

Side hustles that can improve your skills at work 

I recently shared some advice with CNBC about different side hustles that can improve your skills at work. This is a great read if you're someone who doesn't want to be a full-time entrepreneur but wants to make cash on the side and also get promoted at work. One skill that's super powerful - is public speaking. But if you're someone who does want to do odd side hustles, check this out.

Everything I bought this week

I'm heading to a friend's outdoor wedding this weekend and I ordered a few last minute items to wear. I grabbed this fun purse that's not too fancy, these simple good small hoops, and this dress that I think I'll wear to the pre-wedding get together the night before. Also the bride is such a fun and unique soul and she put board games on her registry! I got her this one. 

A song pick-me-up

I love to start my Monday mornings with a playlist of upbeat and fun songs. It makes starting work easier when your shoulders are swaying to some good tunes. Here's what I'm pressing play on today. 

Update your personal brand
