When it comes to Manifesting, I’ve come to find there’s a lot going on with it. Firstly, google is right about making sure you’ve set your intention clearly and understand what you want. Otherwise you could end up getting what you asked for but realize, that’s not how you wanted it. (I call these monkey paw wishes.) But secondly, you have to truly believe it’s real - that it’s meant for you, it’s already happened, and you’re just waiting for the universe to deliver it. Unfortunately this is where my manifestations can live in a black whole for decades until one day it pops up and I forgot I even asked for it. And back then, I was so flippant on what I wished for because I didn’t believe in any greater purpose or universal energy and didn’t really think it could happen. But now I see that I did ask, it was delivered, and that the universe doesn’t deal in linear time like I think I do so these deliveries can happen anywhere in the future or past and you can be totally unaware of it. Fun, huh? heh
But the main thing I’ve learned is that my fears block me from BELIEVING. And truly believing/knowing in your heart something is true is the essential key to manifesting.
Im guessing that $999 class is mostly going to be how fear, guilt, shame are energy blocks and that you will have to work through your issues and traumas in order to “vibe higher”. They’re not wrong, but it’s also like - ok - thanks for telling us that therapy is beneficial for us in more ways than just mental health. But for me, this was the best part of my manifesting journey. I needed to learn to let go of fear and trust that the universe has my back. And that’s been far more useful than gaining any manifesting skills.
I loved reading this and am so grateful for these words. I'm taking this to heart: "But secondly, you have to truly believe it’s real - that it’s meant for you, it’s already happened, and you’re just waiting for the universe to deliver it."
Re: struggling. Im self employed and when people ask how I’m doing I always say “oh I’m busy” or something like that and their IMMEDIATE response is almost always “oh well that’s a good problem to have!” Strangers, old friends, family, clients, everyone has said this to me. Being “successful” has a way of making us have to display gratitude at all costs. I have a few people I can be honest with about how I’m doing which has been immensely helpful, but it can be so lonely!
There's so much loneliness in figuring out how to answer that "how are you" question. We don't want to overwhelm people but we also don't want to stomach their nonchalant comments about how great life must be because of x,y,and z.
Thanks for a thought-provoking piece. It made me realise I am equal parts cynical and optimistic about manifesting.
The good: I think outlining your goals + getting very specific and vocal about them really does help them to happen. Maybe from the universe, maybe from you alone, maybe a bit of both!
The not-so-good: I think 'manifesting' often overlooks the privilege of the manifestee (?), and can be very predatory (see: $999 course. I feel like I might pay money for a 'goal-setting course' versus manifesting, I guess it just depends on the target audience for something).
Enjoyed reading this so much because I'm probably like your bestie when it comes to this manifesting thing 😅
haha Tell me what you are manifesting right now ;)

I agree! I love outlining goals. That has been the ultimate game changer for me.
