Thank you so much for writing this piece, Jenn. I wrote a post on Facebook as my way of expression, but this runs so much deeper into the realities we face and experience growing up Jewish. You nailed it. I have wanted to wear an IDF t-shirt as a sign of support for Israel. But living in a small, mainly ignorant town in Wilkes-Barre, I'm too scared, which is pathetic considering I also live in a country that promotes freedom of speech.

Thank you for the list of resources, I'm going to send this to a group chat of friends I have from when I lived in Israel.

Thank you for helping me understand the difference between the racism I deal with and the life threatening feelings you're dealing with. May God be with you.

Oh Jenn, hugs to you!! I can feel the fear through the words on your newsletter and pray for your safety. For everyone's safety. We live in troubled times and with so much hate in the world right now it's very difficult to see the silver lining. Is there one? Will there ever be one?

Thank you for the links to help/donate for those who are terrified and suffering at the hands of these brutal attacks. May God be with you!

Thanks for sharing and being so brave, Jen. It makes me sick that there is so much hatred and ignorance in this world. Awful that you and others have to walk around in fear. Sending love and peace to you and everyone else suffering during these scary times. ❤️

I can relate to your anxiety and also the feelings expressed by Leah O. I'm fortunate to live in an area with a large (and vocal) Jewish population, but anti-Semitism remains a real threat for many of us right now. Another organization to support is Hands On Tzedkah's Emergency Fund for Israel.

Thank you for being so brave and sharing, it's even scary to share your story nowadays, so much hatred all around... I guess it's always been the case. Hoping this war ends soon and with the least casualties... there is already been too many.

Thank you for sharing your experience and commenting on what is going on. As a Jewish woman myself I feel a similar anxiety to what you described and it helped to read this newsletter this morning and see that someone else feels it too. Since leaving New England I rarely wear my Star of David and specifically this past week I haven’t had really anyone besides my parents check in on me so I don’t typically have much space to talk about how I feel. The one time I wrote about my experience with antisemitism on my website, it was met with crickets. So I wanted to comment here and let you know that this is important and your experience and thoughts and feelings matter. While more and more people like to pretend that antisemitism doesn’t exist, it does and your voice is important. Thank you again. Love your newsletter (and I hope you don’t receive too much hate). ♥️

Unsubscribe me from your email list. Your one-sided inconsiderate political views about innocent civilians being killed in Gaza are disheartening.

I used today's newsletter to share my perspective of growing up as a Jewish woman. I did not share political views and my intention was not to ignore the innocent civilians being killed in Gaza/Israel. I don't stand for that - ever. I appreciate you reading this newsletter and I have unsubscribed you.
